Miss MacNutt Becomes Bride Of J. R. Usher

MISS ALEXANDRA MacNUTT, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Scott MacNutt, was married last night to J. Richardson Usher, younger son of Dr. and Mrs. Roland G. Usher. Both families are active in the Artists' Guild, where the bride and bridegroom met, as did her parents. She is a musician and artist; her father is a well-known portrait artist. The ceremony, performed by the Rev. William Chave McCracken, took place before the fern-covered living room fireplace at the MacNutts' Victorian home, 72 Vandeventer place. Candles provided the only illumination and simple decorations consisted of vases of white larkspur, stock and peonies. Guests were limited to members of the families.

The former Miss MacNutt was attended by Miss Patricia Anne Ryan as maid of honor and Miss Elise Habenicht as bridesmaid. Miss Ryan's gown was white organdy over pale green, with a green sash. Miss Habenicht wore white organdy, over yellow with a yellow sash. They carried shower bouquets of yellow roses and blue delphinium.

The former Miss MacNutt wore a white lace gown over white satin, made with a high neckline and a Peter Pan collar edged with beading, cap sleeves and buttons down the fitted bodice to the waistline. The bouffant skirt ended in a short train. Long lace mitts covered her arms. Her short tulle veil was held with a halo of white flowers and her bouquet was larkspur, gardenias and stephanotis.

Mrs. MacNutt's gown was white marquisette with touches of red at the square neckline and on the sleeves which were long. She wore a corsage of gloriosa lilies. The bridegroom's mother had a dusty pink gown with which she wore a white carnation corsage.

Arthur Wolcott, Elmira, N. Y., was best man for the bridegroom, whose brother, Dr. Roland G. Usher Jr., Indianapolis, and Elihu Hyndman, were ushers.

A large reception at the MacNutt home followed the ceremony, after which Mr. Usher and his bride left for Estes Park, Colo. They will live in Ithaca, N. Y., where Mr. Usher is working toward a Ph.D. degree at Cornell University.
