Nathan, second son and child of Josiah and Mary (Lee) Wheeler, was born January 9, 1745, in Concord, Massachusetts, and was an early settler of Temple, New Hampshire, where he was a farmer and died May 7, 1834. He was an active member of the church, and served as tything man in 1785. He married Lydia Adams, who was born August 15, 1757, in New Ipswich, New Hampshire, daughter of Ephraim and Lydia (Kinsman) Adams. She died in October, 1800. Their children were: Nathan, Lydia and Josiah.
