DUTTON JOEL ASHCRAFT, son of MILDRED MILLER and JOEL DUTTON ASHCRAFT, was born September 3, 1922 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio,³⁰¹⁴ and died September 20, 2013 in Altamonte Springs, Seminole, Florida.

He married RUTH VIRGNIA STRONG on August 18, 1951 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio.²³⁷³ She was born April 30, 1924 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio,⁴² and died March 14, 2012 in Westport, Fairfield, Connecticut.⁴²

Ruth Virginia Strong, daughter of Mr. Fred G. Strong, 16612 Endora Road S. E., and Dutton Joel Ashcraft, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joel D. Ashcraft, 314 Saddler Road, Bay Village, were married Saturday, Aug. 18, in St. Paul's Episcopal Church in East Cleveland. After a reception at the church, the couple left for a trip to the Pocono Mountains. The bride is a graduate of Hiram and has her master's deg[r]ee from Western Reserve. Mr. Ashcraft is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and of the Cleveland Marshall Law School.

It is with great sadness that we report the death of Dutton Ashcraft. Dutton was a long time member, served on many committees and held Board positions. He was a founding member of the Pastoral Care Committee. He put the Sunday bulletins together for years, creating beautiful covers and managing the information inside. He was ready with his camera to capture many special events and moments. His ready smile and support of all of will will be sorely missed. A celbration of his life will be held at UUUS on Sunday, October 20th, at 2 pm.
