BOY SCOUTS MET MISFORTUNE

ONE DROWNED AND ANOTHER WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED.

Lagrange Boys In Camp at Twin Lake, Near Howe, Had Thorns Mixed With Their Roses.

HOWE, Ind., July 13.—Kenneth Ballou, the seventeen-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Ballou, of Lagrange, was drowned in Twin lake, near here, yesterday afternoon. Young Ballou was a member of the boy scouts, who are camping on the shore of the lake. He went in swimming in the afternoon, but got into cold water, where he caught the cramps, sinking out of sight. His body was not recovered for twenty-four minutes, and a physician and several nurses worked over him for nearly three hours in an effort to revive him, but to no avail. The body was shipped to Lagrange.
