Willis N. Batson

Mayville—Willis Newton Batson, 69, a resident of this community for nearly 20 years, dropped dead at the family home on Morris Road Thursday morning. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillian Batson; two sons, Willis Grant Batson, Westfield, and Clifford Batson, RFD 2, Mayville; two daughters, Mrs. Emma Schroeder, Sherman, and Mrs. Julia A. Jenkins, Jamestown; and 15 grandchildren. Mr. Batson formerly resided in Wisconsin. Funeral services will be held at the Hemstreet Funeral Home here at 2 P. M., Monday, with the Rev. Francis G. Whiteman, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be at the Mayville Cemetery.

Mrs. Lillian Baton, 76

Mrs. Lillian Batson died Saturday evening at her home. She had been ill with flu and complications.

Mrs. Batson was born August 5, 1874, in Minnesota. Her marriage to Willis Batson took place April 4, 1903.

In 1919, Mr. and Mrs. Batson and children moved to this vicinity from Clear Lake, Wisconsin.

Mr. Batson died December 16, 1943. Surviving are two sons, Grant of Westfield, Clifford of Sherman; two daughters, Mrs. Amy Schroeder and Mrs. Julia Jenkins of Sherman.

Other survivors include nineteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
