A wedding marked by its simplicity but nevertheless extremely beautiful, was celebrated last evening when Miss Dorothy Vaughan, daughter of Mrs. Frank Crawford Vaughan, of North Tenth street, was joined in marriage to Mr. Carl Bernhardt. The house was prettily decorated throughout with roses and ferns. The ceremony was performed in the parlor. This room was also arranged with the roses and ferns. At seven o'clock the bridal party entered the ceremony room and took their places in the bow window, the little attendants numbered eight and formed a semi-circle about the bride and groom. The attendants were Master Charles Robinson, Miss Frances Robinson, Miss June Robinson, Miss Thelma Robinson, Miss Helen Robinson, Master Richard Robinson, Miss Marjorie Gennett and Miss Alice Gennett. The little people were all costumed in white. The girls wore pretty white lingerie frocks the bright colored bows on their hair adding to the beauty of the scene presented. Miss Laura Gaston played the wedding march for the entrance of the wedding party. THe ceremony was performed by Rev. J. S. Lightbourn, rector of the St. Paul's Episcopal church. Only the members of the immediate families witnessed the ceremony. The bride was attractive in a Russian blue cloth tailored suit. She wore a pretty spring bonnett adorned with pink and blue roses. Her bouquet was a corsage one of roses. Immediately after the ceremony and after congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Bernhardt left for Baltimore, Maryland, where they will spend their honeymoon. Upon their return they will be at home to their hosts of friends in the city after May fifteenth. A wedding supper was served the guests after the departure of the bride and groom. All the appointments were in pink and green.
Mr. Bernhardt is editorial writer for the Palladium and was formerly connected with th Indianapolis Sun. He has made many friends who are glad to extend hearty congratulations. His bride is one of the most attractive and charming young women in this city and has a large coterie of friends who wish her happiness.

Carl Bernhardt, 67-year-old former editorial and special writer for magazines and newspapers, died Monday at Veterans hospital in Dayton. He had been in the hospital for several months. In addition to his writing work, Bernhardt, who lived at 1908 South A street here, had held positions with the Universal Film Manufacturing company in New York City and a Wall Street firm. Bernhardt began his newspaper career as editorial and political writer on The Richmond Palladium in 1908. He was born in Richmond Oct. 9, 1886, and attended city schools before going to Earlham. He was in the class of 1908, but accepted the post on The Palladium before graduating.

Mrs. Dorothy Vaughn Bernhardt, 67 years old, died Saturday. She resided at 35 North Tenth street with her daughter, Miss Barbara Bernhadt, the only survivor.
Mrs. Bernhardt's husband, Carl, is dead.
During the late 1920's and early 30's, Mrs. Bernhardt was advertising manager of Jay-Thorpe Co., a dress house in New York City. Later she held a position as copy writer for Lord and Taylor, New York City. Another highlight of her career was her daily column in Women's Wear Daily, a trade newspaper.
