Cecilia Lorene Bresnahan

CECILIA LORENE BRESNAHAN, daughter of CECILIA M. FLANNAGAN and WILLIAM E. BRESNAHAN, was born April 16, 1910 in Lafayette, Tippecanoe, Indiana, and died December 27, 2001 in Mishawaka, St. Joseph, Indiana.

Sister Mary Bresnahan

Sister Mary Ina Bresnahan (formerly Cecelia Lorena Bresnahan), 91, a former Lafayette resident, died at 4:45 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001, at Our Lady of Angels Convent in Mishawaka.

She was born in Lafayette on April 16, 1910, and attended St. Ann School. She entered the Sisters of St. Francis on July 4, 1926, and pronounced her final vows on Jan. 6, 1934.

She spent 47 years as an elementary school teacher. From 1930 to 1948, she taught at St. Lawrence School in Lafayette. She also taught at Catholic schools in Earl Park, Remington, Dunnington, Huntington, St. John, Fowler, LaPorte and Highland. She taught in Chicago Heights in Illinois, Diamond in Louisiana and Hermann in Missouri.

Surviving are three brothers, John and Harry of Lafayette, and Robert of Port Charlotte, Fla., and a sister, Adeline Lane of Lafayette.

Services were held in Mishawaka.
