Forrest Elwood Carvey

Mr. Carvey, 76, died August 4, 1986. A retired Federal Correctional Officer, he worked at McNeil Island for 23 years. Mr. Carvey was a Scout Master for Troop #100 for 13 years, spent four years as a ranger at Boy Scout Camp Hahobos and was a member of Tacoma First Church of God.

Survived by wife, Veda M., Puyallup; sons, Kenneth M., Longview, Herbert E., Tacoma, Davis W., Washington D.C., Forrest E., Jr., Seattle, Steven J., Gig Harbor; step-brother, Roy Richards, Wenatchee; seven grandchildren.

Services will be Friday, 11 a.m. at New Tacoma Funeral Home. Remembrances may be made to Parkinsons Disease or Tacoma First Church of God, 9401 A. St., 98444.

Veda M. Carvey

Veda M. Carvey, 89, passed away Oct. 31, 1996. Veda was born March 11, 1907 in Decatur, TN. Veda was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Forrest Carvey Sr. She was also preceded by her sisters, Edith Boyer, Vera Haynes, Bess Holt and her brother, Charles Davis.

She is survived by her 5 sons, Kenneth and wife, Jean, Longview, WA, Herbert and wife, Doris, Spanaway, Davis and wife, Pam, Bellevue, Forrest Jr. and wife, Sandra, Seattle, Steven, Puyallup; 7 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 8 step-great-grandchildren. Also her brother, George and wife, Dorothy Davis, ID; sisters, Ruth and husband, Leland Webber, Plains, MT, Gwen DeBolt, Coeur d'Alene, ID; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Veda had lived in Pierce County for 53 years. She had been a member of Hope Fellowship Church of God and was a lover of flowers.

Visitation will be Mon., Nov. 4, 1996 from 1-5 p.m. at the Tacoma Funeral Home. Funeral services Tues, Nov. 5, 1996 at 1 p.m. in the Evergreen Chapel located at New Tacoma Cemetery. Arrangements by Tacoma Funeral Home and Cemeteries.
