WALTER S. CHASE—A Spanish-American veteran of the navy, having served from 1896to 1899 aboard the USS Oregon, Walter S. Chase, 72, of 11737 Linden avenue, died yesterday in a local hospital. Mr. Chase was born in Fowler, Ill. He was a member of Fortson-Thygesen camp No. 2., U. S. W. V.

Surviving is his widow, Hazel Chase, Seattle. Services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock in the Bonney-Watson chapel followed by interment in Washelli.
