Miss Angsten Is Bride of Captain

Mr. and Mrs. John Angsten, 2020 Agency road, announce the marriage of their daughter, Mary Jean, to Capt. Warren Templeton Chesbrough, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Chesbrough of Greenacres, Wash. The ceremony was performed Sept. 4 at the First Methodist Church in Troy, Kan., the Rev. R. I. Henry officiating.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gray suit with dusty pink blouse and black accessories. Lieut. and Mrs. Robert Maker were the attendants.

A graduate of Central High School, the bride has been attending Baker University, Baldwin, Kan., for the past three years. She is a member of the Zeta Alpha chapter of the Phi Mu sorority of which she has been president during the past year. Captain Chesbrough attended Oregon Stat University at Corvallis and had completed his junior year before entering the armed forces. For the past 14 months he has been stationed in India as flyer with the transport command.

Captain and Mrs. Chesbrough are now visiting at the home of his parents in Greenacres. At the expiration of his furlough, Captain Chesbrough expects to be temporarily stationed at Nashville, Tenn.

EX-VALLEY MAN KILLED IN CRASH

Warren T. Chesbrough, 29, former resident on Greenacres, was killed yesterday when a cargo plane he was piloting crashed on Maui island in the Hawaiian group.

He was employed by the Trans-Air Hawaiian Cargo line, and his home was in Honolulu.

A graduate of Central Valley high school, Mr. Chesbrough attended Oregon State college until 1941, when he enlisted in the air force.

During the war he participated in the evacuation of the first group of nurses from Manila, prior to the Japanese invasion.

"Hump" Flown

He ferried planes from Great Falls, Mont., to Fairbanks, Alaska, and spent 14 months "flying the hump" in the China-Burma-India sector. The last year of the war he flew C-54s for the air transport command in the Pacific.

Mr. Chesbrough was separated from the air force as a major in 1947.

The body will be flown to Spokane this week end and funeral services will be held next week at Thornhill's Valley funeral home.

Survivors include his father, Harold Chesbrough, Greenacres; his wife, Mary Jean, and a daughter, Penelope; a brother, Dean, of Greenacres, and a grandmother, Lulu Chesbrough of Greenacres.

Mr. Chesbrough's wife and her daughter have been visiting relatives in St. Joseph, Mo. They will fly here for the services.

Airlines Pilot Services Today

Graveside services for a World war II air corps veteran, Warren T. Chesbrough, formerly of Greenacres, will be held today at 2 p. m. at The Pines cemetery, Opportunity. THe Rev. Roy Mason will officiate.

Mr. Chesbrough was killed in a plane accident in Honolulu, May 27, while in the employ of the Trans-Pacific air lines. He had worked out of Honolulu for the airlines for two years. He made his home with his wife and on daughter on the islands during that time.

During the war Mr. Chesbrough flew 86 missions as a bomber pilot over Burma and was on General Douglas MacArthur's staff during the first year of the Philippines occupation. He spent 5 1/2 years in the service of the army air corps.

He is survived by his widow, Marie J., at home; one daughter, Penny Lynn, at home; his father, Harold Chesbrough; one brother, Dean Chesbrough, and a grandmother, Mrs. Lulu Chesbrough, all of Greenacres.

Services are intrusted to the Thornhill-Carey funeral home.
