Charles Wentworth Cleveland

Charles Wentworth Cleveland, 90, of Grants Pass passed away Thursday, December 11, 2008, at Three Rivers Community Hospital. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, December 16th, 1:00 PM at Stephens Family Chapel with Pastor John Christopherson officiating. Charles was born on February 12, 1918 in Kohler, Oregon to Claude and Vera Cleveland. He attended High School in Ashland, Oregon and Oregon State University. Charles served in the US Army 82nd Airborne during WWII from 1941 until his Honorable discharge in 1945. He married Eloise Miller on October 31, 1974 in Las Vegas, NV. Charles worked as a general manager for Georgia Pacific Lumber Company for many years. Charles enjoyed fishing and hunting. In addition to his wife Eloise survivors include two daughters, Linda Smart of Albany, OR and Christina Allen of Encinitas, CA; three sons, George Humphreys of Battle Ground, WA, Raymond Cleveland of Sherman Oaks, CA and Charles Cleveland of Kalispell, Montana; sixteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one Great great grandchild.12500

Eloise Vivian Cleveland

Eloise Vivian Cleveland, 90, of Grants Pass, died Saturday at Corvallis Manor.

Eloise was born in Leland to Gaiens and Ora (Lee) Miller.

In 1938 Eloise married Claude Humphreys, who died in 1969. In 1973 she married Charles Cleveland, who also preceded her in death.

Eloise is survived by children Linda Smart of Albany and George Humphreys of Battle Ground, Wash.; stepchildren daughter Chris Allen and sons Raymond Cleveland and Charles Cleveland Jr.; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Eloise was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sister.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Fisher Funeral Home.
