Roger Wayne Fjordbak was born on November 14, 1925 in Truesdale, Iowa, the son of Bernhard and Emma (Hansen) Fjordbak. After graduating from high school in Truesdale, Iowa, he worked on his father's farm and at a meat packing plant in Storm Lake, Iowa. On July 6, 1948, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Ruth Gennow by Reverend Byron Robeson in Truesdale, Iowa. THis union was blessed with six children and five grandchildren. Together they were able to share in 64 years of marriage. They moved to Benson, Minnesota in January of 1960 and Roger farmed, did carpentry and painted houses. He also worked at Anderson Ready Mix for several years.
Roger loved reading his Bible and praying for everyone he met. While attending Benson Assembly of God Church, he served as Church Secretary, a Deacon, and a Board Member. He was active in the construction of the new church. Roger loved to sing and played the violin and trumpet as a youth. We remember, with a smile, how he loved Farmall tractors much better than those "green ones".
Roger is survived by his wife, Ruth; children, Bernie Fjordbak of Benson, Beverly (Stewart) Benesh of Eagan, Brenda Fjordbak of Minneapolis, Rhonda (Dwaine "Gig's") Reich of Willmar, and Janet Fjordbak (Brian Gaida) of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Derek Benesh, Deanna Benes, Aaron Reich, Alan Reich, and Shawna Reich; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents; son, Roger Ray Fjordbak; siblings, Dale Fjordbak, Lorraine Lord, Everett Fjordbak, Arnol Fjordbak, Norman Fjordbak, and Willard Fjordbak.

Dorothy Ruth Fjordbak was born November 4, 1924 to John and Jennie Gennow in Sauk Centre, Minnesota where she completed her schooling through high school.
She worked at Montgomery Wards in St. Paul prior to her marriage to Roger Wayne Fjordbak in Truesdale, Iowa on July 6, 1948. They lived in Storm Lake, Iowa before moving to Benson on January 20, 1960 to farm and grow a huge garden until moving to town and living at Scofield Place and then Scandi Haven Village. She most enjoyed watching game shows and playing UNO and Skipbo. We had to watch her closely so she wouldn’t cheat! We had many laughs.
Roger and Ruth had six children: Bernard, Beverly, Brenda, Rhonda, Roger Ray, and Janet.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Henry and sister Winnifred (Byron) Robeson; her husband Roger W.; sons Bernie and Roger Ray; and a son-in-law Brian Gaida.
