WESLEY GLENN GRIFFITTS

Funeral services for Wesley Glenn Griffitts were Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Gracemont, with Rev. Mike Sturgell, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Memorial Lane Cemetery of Anadarko under the direction of Steverson Funeral Home.

Wesley was born September 24, 1913, in the Oakdale Community near Eakly, to Raymond and Leota Kenney Griffitts.

Wesley grew up in the Eakly area, and married Nemoa C. Blakley on June 22, 1936, at Cordell. They continued to live in the Eakly area until 1945 when they moved northwest of Gracemont, where Wesley farmed and ranched until his death.

Wesley had been a member of the Baptist Church since he was 18 years old.

He passed away October 5, 1994, at Baptist Medical Center in OKC, at the age of 81 years and 11 days, following a short illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Surviving are his wife, Neoma, of the home; one daughter, Joyce Allen of Denton, Texas; three sons and daughters-in-law, Leon and Faye Griffitts of Gypsum, Kansas, Larry and Gala Griffitts of Anadarko and Michael and Trish Griffitts of Hinton; 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many neighbors and friends.
