WETMORE WEDDINGS

Grubb-Gard

Miss Lillian Velma Grubb of Wetmore and Elton M. Gard of Stafford, Kas., were married at the Methodist parsonage in Manhattan at 8 o'clock Thursday evening, August 17, 1922, by the pastor of the Manhattan Methodist church. Those present at the service were the bride's father, Geo. Grubb of Wetmore, the groom's mother, Mrs. Gard, and brother, Raymond Gard, and Miss Mabel Vincent, a friend of the bride. After the ceremony the bride and groom and the guests were served a five course dinner by Mrs. Meade of Manhattan. After the wedding dinner the bride and groom left for Howard, Kas., where they will make their home. The bride wore as he wedding dress a beautiful gown of white canton crepe and a lovely bridal veil, and carried a large bouquet of beautiful flowers, a gift from the groom.

The bride is the daughter of Geo. Grubb of Wetmore and one of Wetmore's finest young ladies. She is a graduate of Wetmore high school and has had several years of college training, besides having taught school one term. She is highly accomplished in all matters that go to make an ideal wife and is a lovely young lady of fine personality and loving disposition. Mr. Gard is to be congratulated in securing so great a prize as his life partner.

The groom has visited in Wetmore several times and has made a good impression on all who have met him. He is a graduate of the State Agricultural college at Manhattan and is in every way an exemplary young man.
