She married (1) JOHN GUSTAV SCHWARZ on June 27, 1937 in Garrett Methodist Episcopal Church, Dekalb County, Indiana.11523 He was born September 27, 1874 in Fort Wayne, Allen, Indiana,11523 and died March 31, 1939.11523 He is buried in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Allen, Indiana.456

She married (2) JAMES LAYTON LEWELLYN on November 10, 1940 in Dayton, Montgomery, Ohio.11521 He was born February 22, 1881 in Otisco, Clark, Indiana,11525 and died September 28, 1954 in Garrett, Dekalb, Indiana.11525 He is buried in Monroe Cemetery, Continental, Putnam, Ohio.456

She married (3) DAVE MADISON HOTSENPILLER on November 6, 1959 in Monroe, Monroe, Michigan.11526 He was born January 25, 1904 in Murfreesboro, Rutherford, Tennessee,7377 and died June 10, 1962 in Toledo, Lucas, Ohio.11527

CHURCH WEDDING FOR EUNICE GUTHRIE AND JOHN SCHWARZ

In a ceremony of pretty appointments, Miss Eunice Guthrie, a niece of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. C. Gentes of South Peters street, and John Schwarz of Fort Wayne, were married Sunday afternoon in the Methodist Episcopal church in Garrett, with the Rev. B. M. Bechdolt of Huntington, a former pastor, officiating.

The church was effectively decorated. Floor standards of white lilies and other flowers were placed at intervals in the sanctuary. Palms were used as a background for the bridal party. Vases of white flowers and delphinium were used on the altar.

Preceding the ceremony Mrs. Harry B. Hill, organist, presented a twenty-minute musicale. Mrs. Addison Johnston of Toledo, a cousin of the bride, sang "O Promise Me" and "I Love You Truly." The wedding march from Lohengrin was played as the bridal party entered the church and during the ceremony Mrs. Hill played soft music, Mendelssohn's wedding march was used as a recessional.

Mrs. Clarence Webber of Elmore, O., attended the bride as matron of honor and Miss Maude Ehrhardt of Fort Wayne, was maid of honor. Clyde Hanson of Fort Wayne, served as best man and the ushers were John Gordon of Garrett, and Charles Elderkin of Fort Wayne.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her uncle, Mr. Gentes, wore a floor length frock of blue Elizabeth crepe made along simple lines. The sleeves were of blue chiffon and were decorated in hand painted daisies in various shades and blue delphinium. Her hat, gloves and footwear were also of blue. She carried a bridal bouquet of briarcliff roses, tied with a stain ribbon in cerise shade.

Miss Ehrhardt was attired in a frock of peach colored crepe trimmed with maline. Her accessories were of a matching shade and her flowers were pink roses tied with blue ribbon.

Mrs. Johnston wore a mouseline-de-soie dress of white, the sleeves and the panels in the skirt being decorated and hand painted sweetpeas. The painting on the dresses was the work of Mrs. Gentes.

Following the ceremony a wedding dinner was served to forth-three relatives and friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gentes. A three-tiered wedding cake centered the bride's table and white tapers in crystal holders were used. Baskets of lilies and delphinium were used throughout the house.

Mr. and Mrs. Schwarz left later in the evening for a honeymoon at Lake Gage and will be at home the latter part of July in their furnished apartment at 415 East Wayne street, Fort Wayne.

The bride has always made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Gentes. She attended the Garrett public schools and was graduated with the class of 1922. She completed a business course at the International college in Fort Wayne and for eight years was connected with the Baltimore and Ohio in Garrett in the office of the division engineer. She has been employed in the offices of the Wayne Mortgage Loan company in Fort Wayne for the past three years. Mr. Schwarz is connected with the Continental Life Ins. Co. in Fort Wayne.

J. L. LEWELLYN AND EUNICE GUTHRIE SCHWARZ MARRIED

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. C. Gentes of South Peters street were in attendance Sunday afternoon at the marriage of their niece, Mrs. Eunice Guthrie Schwarz of Dayton, O. and James L. Lewellyn of near Charlestown, Ind., both former residents of Garrett.

The wedding service was read by the Rev. Hazen Werner at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Grace Methodist church in Dayton, O. The bride wore a frock of army blue with matching accessories and her flowers were a shoulder corsage of orchids.

Following the wedding service a dinner was served to a group of twenty at the Seville restaurant in Dayton and later the newly weds left for a three weeks' trip to Florida. They will live on a farm near Charlestown.

The bride is a graduate of Garrett high school and for several years was employed as a stenographer in the office of A. H. woerner, division engineer. For the past two years she has been working as a stenographer in the inspection department at Wright Field, Dayton, O.

Mr. Lewellyn was formerly employed here in the maintenance of way department of the Baltimore and Ohio and was located with the company at North Vernon, Ind., until his retirement a few months ago.

Eunice Lewellyn And Dave Hotsenpiller Wed

Announcement is being made by Mrs. Charles C. Gentes of 311 South Peters street, Garrett, of the marriage of her niece, Eunice G. Lewellyn, to Dave H. Hotsenpiller of Toledo. The single ring ceremony was performed Nov. 6 in the Presbyterian Wayside chapel, Monroe, Mich., with Dr. C. W. Simpson officiating. Mrs. E. A. Wilson of Toledo, a sister of the groom, and Mrs. Gentes attended the couple.

The bride is a graduate of Garrett high school and International Business college, Fort Wayne. She was formerly employed by the B. & O. in Garrett asa stenographer, and at Wright field, Dayton, O. Mr. Hotsenpiller is employed by Kaiser (Willys-Knight) in Toledo. The couple is now residing at 916 1/2 West Delaware, Toledo.

Mrs. Gentes is having open house for the newlyweds Sunday, Nov. 22, from 2 to 6 p.m. at her home.

JOHN SCHWARZ IS DEAD FOLLOWING AN OPERATION

Was Husband of Former Eunice Guthrie

The death of John Gustave Schwarz, husband of the former Miss Eunice Guthrie of Garrett, took place Friday evening at 6:30 o'clock at the Sacred Heart hospital, where he had been a patient since March 18. Death was due to a liver ailment, from which he had suffered three months.

The body was prepared at the H. A. Hinklin funeral home and was taken Saturday noon to the home of an uncle and aunt of Mrs. Schwarz, Mr. and Mrs. Chas C. Gentes, 311 South Peters street. Brief services were conducted there Sunday morning at 11 o'clock with the Rev. W. T. Arnold, pastor of the Garrett M. E. church, officiating. On Sunday afternoon the remains were removed to the C. M. Sloan & Sons mortuary in Fort Wayne and the final rites will be held there this afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Chas. M. Houser of Plymouth Congregational church will conduct the service, assisted by Dr. Arnold. Interment will be made in Lindenwood cemetery.

Mr. Schwarz, a son of the late Carl and Louise (Vandermark) Schwarz, was born in Fort Wayne on September 27, 1874, making his age sixty-four years, six months and four days. He and Miss Guthrie were united in marriage at the Garret M. E. church on June 27, 1937. Surviving are the widow and three brothers, Frank, William and Walter Schwarz, and a sister, Mrs. Louise Reiter, all of Fort Wayne.

Mr. Schwarz was a member of Plymouth Congregational church and was employed as an agent for the Continental Casualty Co. The home is at 1210 Orchard street in Fort Wayne.

Dave Hotsenpiller of Toledo was found dead Sunday at 3 p.m. in his apartment. His wife, the former Eunice Lewellyn, is a niece of Mrs. C. C. Gentes of 311 South Cowen street, Garrett, and they were at the Hotsenpiller lake cottage when they received word of his death. It is estimated he had been dead ten to 12 hours before he was found. The body was taken to the Day-Edwards Mortuary on Central Street, Toledo, where services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. Surviving besides the widow are a son by a former marriage and a sister. The Hotsenpiller address is 916 1/2 West Delaware, Toledo, O.

Mrs. Hotsenpiller, 60, Dies Of Complications

Mrs. Eunice M. Hotsenpiller, 60, a resident of Garrett most of her life, died Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. of complications at the Garrett Convalescent Home where she had been a resident since last Oct. 22. She had been in poor health for two years.

The body is at the McKee funeral home where friends may call after 7:30 tonight. Services will be held at the funeral home Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Blythe Whealy of the Methodist church officiating. Burial will follow in Monroe cemetery at Continental, O.

Mrs. Hotsenpiller was born April 29, 1902, at Martin, O., a daughter of the late Frank B. and Gertrude Guthrie. However, she was raised by an aunt, Mrs. Nellie Gentes of 311 South Peters street, Garrett, with whom she lived until entering the convalescent home. She was married Nov. 10, 1940, to James Lewellyn of Garrett at Dayton, O., and he died Sept. 28, 1954. She then married David Hotsenpiller in Toledo in November, 1959, and he died June 10, 1962.

Mrs. Hotsenpiller was a member of the Garrett Methodist church and the only close survivor is the aunt, Mrs. Gentes.
