Bill was born July 18, 1927 in Steens (Lowndes County) Mississippi. The third of four sons, born to Gid and Grace Dowdle Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents, his adoptive parents Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Goffand his parents'in-law Mr. and Mrs. Walton Goff, his three brothers, Richard, Thomas and George. His beloved grand-daughter Raelyn Grayce Harris. Friends Bobby Byrd, John Myers and Ralph Grafe. Bill was drafted into the Army Air Force in 1945. After basic training at Camp Robinson in Little Rock, Arkansas, he served three years with the Occupation Forces in Munich, Germany. Bill was the retired owner of Harris Body Shop in Moss Point, Mississippi.
Survivors are his wife of sixty three years, Evelyn Goff Harris. His daughter Lynn (Erwin "Peanut") Bullock and Starr (Clay) Bloodworth. His sons George "Buddy" Harris, Mark (Aom) Harris, Jeffery Harris and William A. "Billy" Harris II. He is survived by fourteen grand-children Ginifer, Shane, Mance, Amanda, Lyndi, Joseph, David, Allison, Logan, Selena, Jeffrey, Trent, Sydney, and Katelyn. Twenty-three great grandchildren Tyler, Garret, Cole Alexus, Blair , Blair, Raegan, Emma, Kody, Kyler, Hannah, Alissa, Ethan, Haille, Cade, Mc Kenna, Landon, Emily, twins Luke and Alexus, Toby, Brad and twins, Nathan and Ashton.
Other survivors include Penny Harris of Richton, Mississippi, Sister-In-Law Mrs. Anita (Richard, deceased) Harris, their children and families of Michigan, Bill is also survives by his best friend of 70 plus years, his hunting and fishing partner Edward W. Goffand his wife Bonnie. Their four children and their families of Big Point, Mississippi. And other much loved nieces and nephews. The visitation was held at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Mississippi on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The funeral service was held at 3:00 pm in the chapel at Holder-Wells Funeral Home. Services was conducted by his sons and grandsons. Burial was followed at the Big Point Cemetery in Big Point, Mississippi. The Grandsons of William Allison Harris served as pallbearers.
