Mr. Caleb King, one of Richmond's prominent citizens, died on Wednesday evening at Reid Memorial Hospital, as a result of an operation for appendicitis. He was operated on at the hospital, but did not live but a short time after the operation. Mr. King, who was 72 years of age, and lived at West Fifth and Kinsey streets is survived by his wife and three sons, Walter S., Edgar L., and John M.
Mr. King was conspicuous in a great many local affairs, and took a leading part in church and charities in the city. He was a member of the Christian church, and he acted on the official board of that organization for about fifteen years. He was a member of the county council for one term, and was president of the Wayne County Horticultural Society. He was president of the Wayne County Pioneer Society for several years.
Rev. Traum will officiate at the funeral on next Sunday at 2:00 p. m., at the Christian church. Burial will be at the Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call at the home on Friday and Saturday.
