Samuel Denton Kinne, only son of Judge Edward D. Kenne of Ann Arbor, Michigan, was born July 13, 1869 and died July 3d 1904. His mother was a sister of Mrs. W. R. Graham of this city and died when the deceased was quite young. Mr. Kinne was a student in the University of Michigan and took both a literary and a law course, graduating from the law department in 1894. He spent three or four years in Idaho Springs, Colorado, where he was engaged in silver mining. For the past four years he has been employed in Washington, D. C. where he has held a position in the U.S. Patent and Land offices, and also had charge of the Fraud Department. Last February he suffered a severe attack of la grippe which never entirely left him and tuberculosis developed. The past few months have been fraught with great suffering and extreme weakness. One month ago accompanied by his father he came to Cedar Falls to spend his last days at the home of his sister, Mrs. LeClaire Martin, corner of Tremont and 11th streets. Here he received the most tender and devoted care but the dread disease was too firmly seated and quietly and peacefully he fell asleep.
Judge Kinne arrived early yesterday morning and at five o'clock Rev. Charles L. Biggs read the burial service and the father and sister accompanied the remains to Ann Arbor, Michigan, where interment will be made. The pall bearers were Charles Harris, Park Wise, Charles Hazlett, H. N. Israil, Gus Graham and LeClaire Martin. The deceased has frequently made extended visits in Cedar Falls during the earlier years of his life, when he was a guest at the home of his aunt, Mrs. W. R. Graham, and had many old friends and acquaintances here who have sympathized with him in his long illness.
