Short Biography of John Linsley

John and Ellen Linsley settled in Guilford, Conn., with two children, John, Jr., and Sarah, and there had two children born: Mary, on 22 Feb. 1652, and Hannah on 1 April 1654. Ellen died there 6 April1654 and John moved to Branford, Conn., where we find recorded his marriage, 6 July 1655, to Sarah Pond, who was widow of Samuel Pond of Windsor. By her he had two children who died young. The two younger girls, by the first wife Ellen, very probably were raised by a relative, not of the Linsley name, in East Hampton, L.I.

John Linsley, Sr., died at Branford in 1698.
