A pretty wedding in the Federated Church Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock united Miss Ruth Brown and Willis McEuen, with the Rev. Robert P. Price officiating at the double ring ceremony.
The church was beautifully appointed with baskets of gladioli, carnations, snapdragons and pine boughs with lighted candelabra placed at either side of the altar.
Before the exchange of vows Miss Mary Sykes sang "I Love You Truly" and "O Promise Me" with Mrs. Eldon A. Ardrey at the organ. The traditional wedding marches were used for processional and recessional.
Mrs. Milton Lee of Phoenix, was matron of honor and James J. Campbell of Inyokern, Cal., served as best man.
Ushers were William Johnson and Woodrow Rhodes, Flagstaff State College students, and friends of the couple.
For her wedding the bride appeared in a street length white eyelet embroidered dress, with lace picture hat. In lieu of a bouquet she carried a white Bible topped by a lavender orchid.
Mrs. Lee selected a two-piece jersey spring ensemble with feather hat. Her flowers were a colonial bouquet of red roses.
Mrs. Willard Brown, mother of the bride, wore a white suit with matching accessories, and peruvian lily corsage. The bride's sister, Mrs. Earl Jones, chose a yellow suit with pink rose corsage.
The bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Arch McEuen was dressed in a gray suit with American beauty corsage.
Following the ceremony, a wedding dinner was held at the Town House, for all members of the bridal party and immediate members of the family.
A two tiered wedding cake topped by miniature bride and bride-groom provided the center piece, flanked by low bowls of sweet peas.
Out of town guests who came here for the wedding, were the bride's mother, Mrs. Williard Brown, and her sister, Mrs. Earl Jones, both of Warren, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Lee of Phoenix, Mr. and Mrs. Arch McEuen of Coolidge, parents of the bridegroom, Mrs June Bell of Phoenix, Miss Elayne Eaton, Pasadena, Cal., and Mr. William Whipple and Miss Bridget Butler of Williams.
After the dinner the couple left for a week's honeymoon trip to the White Mountains, and then will visit in Warren, Bisbee and Coolidge, before returning to Flagstaff. They will make their home at Flagstaff State College and both continue their education.
The bride is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard M. Brown of Warren, and a graduate of Bisbee High School. At present she is a Junior student at Flagstaff College. She is vice president of Mud Hatters, social sorority and Delta Phi Alpha, music fraternity, and member of Pi Omega Pi, national honorary society.
Mr. McEuen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arch McEuen, of Collidge, served as a Lieutenant in the Infantry during the war. He served two years in the Aleutians and a year in France and Germany. Like his bride he is also a Junior student of the College, and is member of Pi Kappa Epsilon fraternity and member of the Chain Gang, men's honorary group.
