A telegram to his parents in this city announced the death of Clem McGuire at Southern Pines, North Carolina, last evening about 4:30 o'clock. He was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Elwood McGuire, prominent residents of this city. He was a well known and popular young man and had a host of friends. He had been in ill health for the past two years. Pneumonia left his lungs in a weak condition and he contracted consumption. For two years he has tried various climates with the hope of benefitting his health, but it was all of no avail. He went to Asheville, N. C., last November and went from there to Southern Pines, where he died.
His age was 23 years. He was a brother of Charles McGuire of the Dille and McGuire Manufacturing company. Besides his parents, he also leaves on sister, Miss Florence. Mr. and Mrs. McGuire left last evening for Southern Pines and will accompany the remains to their home in this city. The funeral arrangements will be announced later.

The funeral of Clem McGuire took place yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the residnes of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elwood mcGuire, of 1903 Main street, and was largely attended. The employe at Dille-McGuire's attended in a body.
The services were conducted by the Rev. I. M. Hughes and a quartet from the First Presbyterian church furnished the music. The pall-bearers were Lee Rhodes, Will Rodes, Harry Land, Clyde Walters, Fred McGuire and Leslie Cox. The interment was in Earlham cemetery.
