Aymer Grant "Bob" Mills, 63, retired Spokane letter carrier who had moved to Colfax just a month ago, died today in a Spokane hospital with a heart ailment. His home here was at W2317 Second.
Mr. Mills had been employed by the Spokane Post Office 36 years and he had worked in the mail room at Gonzaga University five years.
A Spokane resident more than half a century, he was born in Chicago and came here with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Elmer G. Mills. He was a graduate of North Central High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Mr. Mills was a member of the First Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Spokane Elks Lodge and National Association of Letter Carriers and he was active in numerous bowling and golf associations.
Surviving are his wife, Francy, at the Colfax home; three daughters, Mrs. Leonard B. (Judy) Cates and Mrs. Charles (Phyllis) Hixon, both of Spokane, and Mrs. Earl (Beverly) Taylor, Tampa, Fla.; four sons, Robert A., Spokane; James P., Omaha, and Gordon C. and Dale B., both San Diego; 14 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Wayne (Betty) Myers, Nampa, Idaho, and a brother, Norman E., Spokane.
Funeral services will be at 10 Friday at Thornhill-Geraghty & Langbehn's with cremation to follow.
The family suggests memorial gifts may be made to the Washington State Heart Association, Northeastern Chapter, 321 Hutton Building.
