Education
Arnold W. Morse
- graduated from The Blake School, Minneapolis, Minnesota, 19439918
"Arnie, at first glance, seems so cute and inoffensive that it is hard to realize that he is one of our most talented classmates and our chief exponent of Arts and Letters. Without ever resorting to the combination of drudgery and apple-polish which forms the most popular scholastic weapon of the Senior Class. Arnie has frequently led us in scholarship and graduates Cum Laude. For three years he has held important parts in Dramatics, and last winter he captained the Debating Team. Through consistent brilliance he has made himself indispensable to the Publications Board as Managing Editor. Besides these activities, Arnie has outside interests which cover practically the entire field of the Arts. He is a skilled and talented pianist. He has painted a number of oil paintings, one of which recently won a prize in a regional contest. He has written a mysterious mystery novel. Even his clothes, particularly neckties, exhibit artistic finesse. And we have all, at one time or another, been the victims of Arnie's biting but completely friendly wit. Yes, his talents seem to justify our guess that Arnie will bring forth great works."
Sally T. Atwood
- graduated from Northrop Collegiate School, Minneapolis, Minnesota, 19449908
"Sally can always be easily found during her spare time, for if she isn't holding forth at the bridge table, she is elsewhere in the Senior Room engrossed in deep conversation. Her solutions to her friend's problems are hight respected, as are her literary and musical viewpoints which she utters with profound authority. As the top student in our class scholastically, Sally devotes much of her Senior Room privilege to helping the herd of distraught seniors finish their "today's homework." Sally is most sympathetic, and agrees on most any gripe that one might tell her. One of her greatest assets is her quality of reserve which she exercises in just the proper situation. Our Sal, with her long blond hair, and her shapely legs will make many fast friends at the college of her choice."
- graduated from Bryn Mawr College, Pennsylvania in 19489362
