Donna Belle Parks Is Wed In New York To Sgt. C. Guenther

Miss Donna Belle Parks of Seattle, Wash., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl H. Parks of Greenwood, became the bride of Sgt. Charles William Guenther, U. S. Marine Corps, on August 29th at the home of Sgt. Guenther's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Smith at Jamestown, New York. Sgt. Guenther, son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor H. Guenther of Olympia Wash., is stationed at Camp LeJeune, N. C. Rev. R. W. Neathery of Falconer Baptist church performed the ceremony at 1:30 o'clock in the presence of about 100 guest. Traditional wedding music was played.

Matron of honor was Mrs. George Adams. She wore a pale pink net and taffeta, with a flower coronet, and carried a colonial bouquet of yellow and white rosebuds.

Best man was his brother, S-N Victor H. Guenther, U. S. Navy.

The bride was given in marriage by Sgt. Harry R. Williams of the U. S. Marine Corps, in the absence of her father. Her wedding gown was of crisp Chantilly lace and tulle, fashioned ballerina length, with a bolero jacket. Her princess bridal veil of tulle fell the length of her skirt from a regal tiara of lace and seed pearls and she carried a cascade bouquet of white rosebuds, circling a corsage of yellow rosebuds.

Sgt. Guenther returned in November, 1952 from Korea, after serving overseas with the First Marine Division. Mrs. Guenther graduated from Ashland high school and formerly worked in Seattle, Wash.

They will make their home at Camp Lejeune, N. C.

Donna Belle Parks was born August 12, 1928 in Nebraska and passed into the arms of the Lord, January 11, 2007 in Yakima, WA., following a stroke. Donna was preceded by her parents, Carl and Millie Parks, sister Elaine Jepp, brother Eugene Parks all of Nebraska. She is survived by two nieces, Arlyss Brouhard and Sandra Mixon both of Nebraska. Donna retired from custodial work in Tacoma, WA in 1993 and became a member of the Neighborhood Blockwatch Program. She loved and cared for all neighborhood stray animals who came to her yard for a free meal. She will be remembered for her lovely vegetable and flower garden that she generously shared with her neighbors. Because of physical disabilities, Donna moved to Yakima in May 2006. She will always be loved and deeply missed by her many friends including: Nancy Fisher of Yakima WA., Eileen Dennis, Paul and May Shell, Juanita Korthas and Ed Cody all of Tacoma, Cappy and Rae McIntire of Spanaway, Delores Moran of Seattle and Alison Hentges of Tucson, AZ. She also made many friends in her short stay at Chesterly Meadows and Cascade Village in Yakima WA. Memorials maybe made to donors favorite charity. Keith & Keith Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
