Kathryn Linn Edwards, 87, of Denton, died Sunday, December 30, 2007 at Denton Rehab and Nursing Center, ending a lifetime of service to others. She was born February 6, 1919 Dallas, Texas to Orville Earl and Ivie Mae Patty. She graduated from W. C. Stripling High School, now Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth in 1937. She married M.R. Baird in 1940. They were divorced in 1942 and in 1952 she married Dave Linn who died in 1962. In 1981 she married Royce Edwards who died in 1991.

For most of her life Kathryn Edwards worked in dentistry, beginning as a dental supply clerk and becoming a receptionist and hygienist. When she retired from this career, she was the church secretary for Brooklyn Avenue Methodist Church in Dallas. She moved to Denton in 1991 where she became a member of First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son, Jim Baird of Denton, cousins Ora Marie McRee, Lucy Turner, Jeremy Turner and Destiny Turner of Hackberry, William Young of Allen, Michael Turner of Frisco, and William Brown of Big Sandy.

A graveside funeral will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Shannon's Rose Hill Cemetery, 7301 East Lancaster Ave., Fort Worth, TX 76112, with Rev. Lisa Marshall, officiating. The family will be at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. from 10 AM to 12 noon on Thursday prior to the graveside service.
