Mrs. Charles Reed

COLDWATER — Mrs. Gertrude Reed, 76, wife of Charles Reed, died at her home at Reed's corners, four miles northwest of Coldwater on the Union City-Battle Creek road, at 1:15 p. m. Saturday. She was a life-long resident of Girard township, where she was born November 23, 1860, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Chauncey. She had lived for 56 years in the house where she died. She was married February 22, 1880, to Mr. Reed, who survives here, together with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a member of the Hodunk Ladies' aid, having served for the last 20 years as its president; the Morrison Lake View club and the Green Arrow circle. Funeral services will be held from her home at 2:30 p. m. Tuesday and burial will be made in the West Girard cemetery.

Charles L. Reed

COLDWATER—Charles L. Reed, 87, prominent farmer who continued to attend dances until several years ago, died suddenly at the breakfast table at his Girard township farm home at 8 a. m. today. Coroner Irving L. Stansell, who attributed the death to a heart attack, said there would be no inquest. Surviving is his wife, Mary E. Mr. Reed was born May 31, 1860. The body is at the Shattuck chapel.
