Robber Kills Man Aiding Girl Victim
GARDENA(AP)—Carl A. Ritzman, 37, was shot and killed yesterday as he attempted to capture a robber who had wrested $6100 in cash and checks from a depositor in a Bank of America branch.
As Miss Blanch Bloom entered the bank to deposit the money, the robber seized her bag. Hearing the commotion as Miss Bloom struggled with the bandit, Ritzman attempted to grab the man. The robber fired two shots in Ritzman's body and escaped in an automobile.
The stolen money and checks were the weed-end receipts of the Normandy club in Gardena.
