Two members of Class 44-B, Naval Aviation Cadet Training program at Schreiner Institute are veterans of the war in the Pacific, and both of them have seen plenty of action.
Cadet Byron L. Sadler, 21, of Clear Lake, Wis., who served in the Navy from September 17, 1940 until March of this year. He saw service in New Calodinia and the Solomons, and participated in the first raid on Florida Island. Cadet Sadler served 1,200 hours on a PB-Y flying boat as radio operator and was one of the crew members who spent two weeks searching for Capt. Eddie Rickenbacker and party, who were lost in the Pacific for more than a month.
