Will of James Scott

Rockbridge County, Virginia, July 6, 1818 (Bk 4, pg. 354; filed 6 July 1818)

In the name of God amen

I James Scott of Fairfield in Rockbridge County Virginia being weak of body but of sound mind and memory do make this my last will and testament. First I will and bequeath to my wife Mary Scott my plantation adjoining Fairfield ? one house and lot now in the possession of my Father and one hundred acres of land now in my possession on the south side of Fairfield adjoining the lands of Col James McDowell & Capt. James Paxton and all appurtenances thereunto belonging as recorded in the County Courty of Rockbridge. I also bequeth to my wife Mary Scott my house, cow, household furniture and all other of my effects as witness my hand and seal this twenty fifth day of April one Thousaind Eight hundred and Eighteen.
