Short Biography of Maria D. Scott

Maria Dorothea Scott was born in Ashland, Neb. Oct 27, 1887. She graduated from the Ashland High School in 1905, entered the Nebraska University School of Music in 1906 and graduated from there in 1909. She belonged to the P.E.O. and Eastern Star in Ashland. She died of pneumonia in New York City, Feb. 19, 1923.

Dorothea was the best Latin student in her High School class. She could trim hats, make beautiful clothes for herself. She was considered the best cook in Ashland. She had a nice voice. She was church organist for the Congregational Church for a number of years.
