Miss Martha Scott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Scott of North Tenth street, and who was graduated last June from Earlham College, left yesterday for the University of Wisconsin (Madison) where she will study this winter. She will take a special course in German and French.

Miss Martha H. Scott, 85, who resided at 126 North Tenth St., died Saturday night at Heritage House Convalescent Center following a brief illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Wayne County, and was born May 9, 1891. Miss Scott was a graduate of Earlham College.
She was employed with the Wayne County Welfare Department for a number of years and was a member of Reid Memorial United Presbyterian Church.
She was a charter member of the Richmond Garden Club, and in 1964 was honored at the fortieth anniversary of the group.
Her brother, Andrew F. Scott Jr., died Feb. 27, 1976, at the age of 85. She is survived by cousins.
Services for Miss Scott will be at 2:30 pm. Tuesday at the family residence at 126 North Tenth St., with Rev. Steven L. Harterts, minister of Reid Memorial United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Doan & Mills Funeral Home.
