LESLIE D. SHAWFIELD, 92, Satlsburg RD 1 (Tunnelton), died Thursday, June 1, 1989, at his home.
The son of Joseph and Malinda Holme Shawfield, he was born Dec.19, 1896, in Swissvale.
Mr. Shawfield was a member of the Tunnelton Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post 57 of Saltsburg and United Mine Workers of America.
A veteran of World War I, having served in the U.S. Army, he also served Conemaugh Township for several years as justice of the peace.
Surviving are six nieces and four nephews.
He was preceded by his wife, Pearl Stailey Shawfield, in 1979; his parents; three brothers; three sisters.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the Joseph R. Hunter Funeral Home, Saltsburg, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Dr. Robert Off orffiicatin. Interment will follow in the Edgewood Cemtery, Saltsburg.
