Jane Scott and John T. Smith

JOHN T. SMITH was born in 1795 in Ireland, and died October 17, 1856 in Richmond, Wayne, Indiana. He is buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, Richmond, Wayne, Indiana.

He married JANE SCOTT on June 12, 1821 in Rockbridge County, Virginia, daughter of MARGARET HAYES and WILLIAM SCOTT. She was born in 1797 in Ireland.

DIED,

In this city, on Friday morning last, Mr. John T. Smith, an old and highly esteemed citizen. Mr. S. was among the oldest settlers of this place. He was a leading member of the Associate Reformed Church, and always sustained the character of an honest man and consistent Christian.
