MYSTERY GIRL IS FOUND TO BE SANE

MRS. STANLEY SOUTHERN 18 PERMITTED TO RETURN TO ELYRIA HOME

Cleveland, O., Feb. 10.—"Belva Brown," known as the "Mystery Girl," will be released from the observation ward at City Hospital today. Superintendent Wright, of the hospital, recommended her release yesterday to probate court. She will be returned to her home in Elyria.

The "Mystery Girl," who is the wife of Stanley Southern, 9811 Lamont avenue, was committed to the hospital two weeks ago upon complaint of Miss Clara VanNorstrand, head of the Elyria Associated Charities.

The girl gained her sobriquet when the authorities of Louisville, Detroit and Minneapolis sought to learn her identity when she appeared and refused to tell anything about herself.

She married young Southern one day last June and left him in the afternoon of the same day.

"MYSTERY GIRL" SUED FOR DIVORCE

"The Mystery Girl," who aroused interest all over the country while she traveled under the names of Belva Brown, Fritzie Southern and Frieda Shubert Southern, is the defendant in a divorce suit filed in common pleas court, Cleveland, yesterday.

Stanley Southern, 9811 Lamont avenue N. E., to who she was married June 16, 1914, filed suit for separation charging her with gross neglect of duty. The petition states that the day after the marriage she told him that she had married him merely to "spite another man" and left him.

She returned some time later and until September 13 she left him frequently, always refusing on her return to account definitely for her time, the suit says. She left him permanently Sept. 13 the petition states.
