Miss Elizabeth Stambaugh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Stambaugh, was united in marriage to Leslie Reed, son of Mrs. Matthew Oberbillig of Fremont, at the First Methodist church in Omaha by the Rev. A. A. Brooks on Friday, Oct. 4, at 2 o'clock. Miss Geraldine Heller of Lincoln and Leland Foust of Fremont attended the couple. The bride wore a dress of blue transparent velvet cut on princess lines and wore a corsage of white gardenias and pink roses. Miss Heller's dress was of soldier blue crepe. She wore a corsage of tea roses. Both boys wore dark suits. In the evening the couple treated their friends to a dance in Yutan.
Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Stambaugh entertained at a dinner for the couple at the Selma hotel Sunday noon. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Reed, Nels Steele and Miss Rose Marie Raneer, all of Fremont; Miss Geraldine Heller of Lincoln, Mrs. L. G. Stambaugh of Ashland, Mr. and Mrs. Max Burr and Sharon Lou and Keith of Ashland and Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Stambaugh and Billie.
The couple are now living at 306 W. Jensen in Fremont, but plan to visit Mr. Reed's sister, Mrs. Raymond Hansen, and brother, Wesley Reed, in Stockton, Cal.
Mrs. Reed was a graduate of Ashland high school in 1936 and has been working at the Fremont canning factory the past season.
Mr. Reed graduated from Fremont senior high school in 1936 and is now employed by the A. Babendure & Sons Poultry company in Fremont.

Elizabeth I. Bachman, 95 of Nampa, passed away Friday, December 27, 2013 of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 31st at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell with interment following at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. Liz married Wayne Bachman on May 15, 1954 and shared nearly 60 happy years together. They had two children; a son, Ray and a daughter, Jennie. Liz worked at Buttrey's Super Store for 16 years and Symms Fruit Ranch for over 10 years. She enjoyed camping and tending her flower garden. Liz was loved by her family and many friends - she will be deeply missed.
Liz is survived by her husband, Wayne; her sons, Bill (Connie) Reed and Ray (Mel) Bachman; her daughter, Jennie (Marty) Stanley; and 6 grandchildren.

NAMPA, Idaho - Elizabeth I. Bachman, 95, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away on Dec. 27, 2013, of natural causes.
She was born Nov. 9, 1918 to Herbert and Mildred Stambaugh near Ashland. Her father, Herb, was the mail carrier in the Ashland area for three decades. She was the granddaughter of Joseph Stambaugh, one of the original settlers of Saunders County.
She married Leslie Reed and had one son, William (Bill). They later divorced. On May 15, 1954, she married Wayne Bachman and shared nearly 60 happy years together. They had two children, a son, Ray and a daughter, Jennie.
In 1960 they moved to Idaho where she raised her family, although she always considered Ashland her home town, even attending and planning many of her school reunions, including her 70th reunion. She returned "home" to visit family frequently.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne; her sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Connie Reed and Ray and Mel Bachman; daughter and son-in-law, Jennie and Marty Stanley; six grandchildren; many nieces and nephews including Jack and Sue Welton of Ashland.
