He was a native of Arizona, and had resided in Sacramento since 1948. He was a veteran of WWII and a member of the Masonic Temple Three Pillars Lodge. He was also a 30 year employee of Texaco. He was 77 years of age. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday May 22, 1993 at 1 P.M. at East Lawn Mortuary, 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento. Remembrances may be made to the California Masonic Home Endowment fund.

Mabel Leota Pachl passed away peacefully at age 99 on April 8, 2018, in Carmichael, California. She was born in Bisbee, Arizona on November 8, 1918 to James Sinclair Stewart and Mary Leota (Studley) Stewart. She graduated from the University of Arizona in 1939 and married in 1940. She moved to San Diego in 1941 and to Sacramento in 1948, and lived in Arden Park for fifty-two years. She taught school for 15 years at Will C. Wood Junior High School, Sacramento. She was preceded in death by her late husband Pierson Russell (Russ) Pachl and by her brothers Stanley, James, Robert, and Richard. Her survivors include her son, James P. Pachl, daughter Carol Anne Pachl, grandson Alex Montgomery, brother Earl Stewart and many nieces and nephews.
