A candlelight wedding will be solemnized in St. Paul's Evangelical United Brethren Church tonight at 8:00 p.m. when Miss Helen F. Moore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Moore, this city, will wed E. Rolland Strock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar L. Strock, also this city.
The Rev. P. Berry Plummer, D.D., pastor of the church, will perform the double ring ceremony against a background of palms, white flowers, and lighted tapers. Before the ceremony Oscar Haup will sing "I Love You Truly," "Because," and "The Lord's Prayer."
The bride-elects' gown will be fashioned of white chiffon with a satin bodice, beaded neckline, high round neck, and long sleeves of chiffon. Her veil, caught to a beaded headdress, will be of fingertip length edged with lace, and she will carry a white Bible and white orchid.
Mrs. Evelyn J. Werking, a former resident of this city now living in Washington, D. C., will act as maid of honor, attired in a powder blue gown made with short sleeves. She will carry an old-fashioned bouquet.
Patsy Ann Moore, sister of the bride-elect will be flower girl, wearing a pink satin dress with short puffed sleeves, a Peter Pan collar, and a pink bow at the waist.
David Lewellyn, will serve as best man for Mr. Strock and ushers will be Sigmund Smith and Millard Martin, cousin of Miss Moore.
Mrs. Moore, mother of the bride-elect, plans to wear a navy blue ensemble with white accessories and a pink rosebud corsage while Mrs. Edgar Strock, will be attired in a black-and-white print with white accessories and a pink rosebud corsage.
A reception will be held in the social room of the church following the ceremony, after which the couple will leave for a wedding trip to New York and New England by motor. On their return they will live on East avenue.
Both Miss Moore and Mr. Strock are graduates of Hagerstown High School, and Mr. Strock served three and one-half years with the Army Air Corps. He is in the neon business, this city.
