MRS. GEORGE H. VARLEY

Mrs. Lottie E. Varley, wife of George H. Varley, a retired stationary engineer formerly with the Cleveland Transit System, died yesterday at her home, 7512 Brecksville Road, Independence. She was 63.

Although an invalid for a number of years, Mrs. Varley maintained a large correspondence with service men and women during the war. Her bedroom in her home, then at 16305 Tarkington Avenue S. E., was specially equipped to facilitate her wrapping packages and writing letters. She had been paralyzed since June, 1943.

Born in old Newburgh, she was a member of Miles Avenue Church of Christ and also belonged to the auxiliary of the United Spanish War Veterans and the Independent Order of Foresters auxiliary.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Frederick G. and Earl K.; two daughters, Mrs. Norma E. Rose and Mrs. Virginia M. Hardy, and six grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p. m. Wednesday at the David I. Jones funeral home, 9419 Miles Avenue S. E., where friends may call after 6 p. m. today.
