ALFRED R. WHITE HEADS ASHBY POST
Veteran of Spanish and World Wars is Elected Commander

Bridgewater, Aug. 6.—Alfred R. White, who holds the unique distinction of being a veteran of both the World and the Spanish-American wars, is the new commander of Ashby Post No. 48 American Legion. He succeeds D. B. Allen.
White enlisted as a youth of 16 in the war with Spain and during the world conflict was a member of the famous Dayton band.
Other officers named.
R. L. Clarke, vice-commander; P. W. Rinker, adjutant; W. E. Sipe, finance officer; William C. Glenn, historian; Basil Coffman, chaplain; and C. R. Bowman, chairman executive committee.
Ashby Post is expecting to attend the state Legion convention at Clifton Forge, Aug. 24-26, and will be accompanied by the Ashby Post Band.
