RUTH YORK (IV), daughter of John and Ruth (Graves) York, was born about 1682, and died June 16, 1749. She married, January 13, 1703, Henry Haskell. (Haskell V.) Ruth and her brother Joseph were the sole survivors of the family, and came to Gloucester with other refugees from Maine, to escape the ravages of the Indian wars. The proof of her marriage to Henry Haskell is found in York county deeds at Alfred, Maine, Vol. 18, p. 59, in a deed wherein Ruth and Henry Haskell, her husband, of Gloucester, convey to George Dennison all their rights, etc., to a lot in North Yarmouth, formerly of John Yorke, "as said Ruth was a daughter of said John Yorke."
