MINATARE COUPLE WED

Miss Jean McElwee and Jerome Tilden Married In Bridgeport

Announcement was recently made of the marriage of Miss Jean McElwee and Jerome Tilden, both of Minatare. The couple was married Wednesday, November 27, by Judge Conover in Bridgeport.

The bride, who is the daughter of Ted McElwee of Chicago, has made her home with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. R. McElwee of Minatare. Her mother, the late Esther Reynolds McElwee, a niece of Miss Marion, Howard and Myron Reynolds of this city, passed away several years ago. Mrs. Tilden graduated from high school last spring and had spent the past several months attending business college in Denver.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Tilden of Minatare and a nephew of Lloyd Tilden of the North Bayard community. He is now assisting his father in the service station just north of Minatare.

The young couple are at home to friends at the Tilden farm home near that city.

Jean Behm

MINATARE — Jean Behm, 74, of Minatare died April 3, 1996, at her home.

A funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church at Scottsbluff with the Rev. Ed Hunzeker officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Scottsbluff. Visitation is at Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff today from 3 to 9 p.m. The casket will be closed at the church. Memorials are to the church.

She was born Feb. 20, 1922, at Minatare to Theodore and Esther (Reynolds) McElwee. SHe was raised and educated at Minatare. She married Albert Behm, Nov. 30, 1943, at Sidney.

They farmed north of Minatare until their retirement in 1981, when they moved into Minatare. She was a member of the church.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Kathryn and Gordon Reifschneider of North Platte, Becky and Jim Hohnstein of Bayard; grandchildren, Jill Hohnstein of Omaha, Jeff Hohnstein, Nick Reifschneider and Sarah Reifschneider all of Lincoln; and brother Ted McElwee of Orlando, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son David Behm.
