Miss Ruth E. Scott

Miss Ruth E. Scott, 126 North Tenth St., died Friday afternoon at the Heritage House after a short illness.

A native and lifelong resident of Richmond, she was also a violin instructor at DePauw University School of Music and in public schools. She was a member of the Reid Memorial United Presbyterian Church.

She attended the New England Conservatory of Music at Boston, Mass., and had studied at Columbia University. She was a former member of the Richmond Symphony Orchestra. She was also a member of the Hayes Arboretum Board of Directors.

Miss Scott was the granddaughter of Andrew F. Scott, first president of the Second National Bank.

Survivors include her sister, Miss Martha Scott of Richmond, her brother, Andrew F. Scott of Richmond, and cousins.

Services for Miss Scott will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the family residence, 126 North Tenth St. Rev. Alfred H. Nead will officiate. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Doan and Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West.
