Will and Probate for Rebekah Adams
Cheshire County, New Hampshire, September 19, 182312763
In the name of God, Admen. I Rebekah Shedd, of Rindge, in the County of Cheshire and State of New Hampshire, being of a sound disposing mind, and considering the uncertainty of life, and feeling it to be my duty to set my house in order by a suitable disposition of my worldly affairs, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament as follows —
First, I commit my soul to God, who gave it, and my body to a decent christian burial, in humble hope of a glorious resurrection and blessed immortality through the merits of my Saviour.
I give and bequeath to my beloved son Charles my plaid cloak, and Scott's family Bible.
I give to my belived son James A. my blue coat, the poorest of my three beds with suitable bedding — and twenty dollars.
I give to my beloved daughter Rebekah all the residue of my wearing apparel — my two best beds with the residue of my bedding — all my table linen and diaper — largest looking glass — best table — large ? waiter — all my crockery — my silver spoons both large and small — knives and forks — and such trinks as may be necessary to contain the clothing, bedding — linen & c —
All the residue of my property of every description, after payment of my just debts, I give to my beloved sons, CHarles, James A., Curtis and George, to be equally divided between them — and I authorize my Executor, herein after named, to dispose of the same, or such parts of the same as he may deem expedient, at his discretion, and to apply avail them to the payment of my debts, and to the ? of my sons, as above specified. I also authorize my Executor to dispose of such articles of those bequeathed to my daughter Rebekah, as he may judge shall be for her interest to sell, applying the ? to her use.
Lastly — I hereby constitute and appoint William Kimball Junr. Executor of this my last Will and Testament.
