VANETA D. PEFFERS

Former Sunnyside resident Vaneta D. Peffers, 77, died Friday in the Lewiston Care Center, Lewiston, Idaho.

Mrs. Peffers was born June 16, 1908, to Lee H. and Helen R. Alexander in Sunnyside, where she spent her early years. The family moved to Filer, Idaho; Hood River, OR; and again to Sunnyside. She lived there until October 1977, when she and her husband moved to Lewiston. She attended Sunnyside High School and Washington State University.

She married Albert R. Peffers October 16, 1923, in Sunnyside. He died November 29, 1977.

Mrs. Peffers was active in the Sunnyside Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed reading, embroider, crocheting and her rose garden. She was a member of the Lewiston First Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Helen Black and Shirley Weber, both of Seattle, and Frances Wright of Lewiston, 13 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother.

Cremation and private burial will be in Tahoma Cemetery in Yakima.

Memorials may be made to the Lewiston First Baptist Church.
