Ceremony Read in Garden

At a beautiful garden ceremony Saturday night Miss Louise Hansen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hansen, became the bride of Jerald Archer of Seattle, son of Rev. and Mrs. Francis Archer of Seattle. At 8:30 o'clock the groom's father, assisted by Dr. Edward Blair of Seattle, read the impressive service.

The couple exchanged their vows at one end of the garden which was banked with baskets of summer flowers and lit with tapers. Lighting the candles were Miss Joybelle Johnson of Seattle and Miss Ruth Riensche of Salem.

Preceding the wedding the bride's brother, Mr. Herbert Hansen, jr., sang "O Promise Me" and her cousin, Mr. Randall Wienek, sang "At Dawning." The accompanist was Mr. William Fawk.

The bridal party walked across the lawn to the improvised altar. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white embroidered marquisette frock fashioned on princess lines and the full skirt was slightly entrain. The bodice was made with a sweetheart neckline and long sleeves which extended into points over the wrists.

Her fingertip length tulle veil fell from a bank of braided white satin which was caught with orange blossoms at either side. She carried a colonial nosegay of sweetpeas and roses.

Attending the bride was Miss Adelaide MacPhee of Portland, the maid of honor, who wore pastel blue, Mrs. Roland Millican of Seattle, the matron of honor, who was gowned in mist pink, and Miss Evelyn Proudfit of Salem, whose frock was yellow.

Their dresses were all made identical and were of dotted swiss. The skirts were full and the sleeves were short and puffed. The tight-fitting bodices were made with sweetheart necklines. They carried colonial nosegays of roses and sweetpeas.

Reception Follows

Mr. Wayne Archer of Seattle, was his brother's best man and ushering were Mr. Eldon Turnidge of Jefferson and Mr. Herbert Hansen, jr.

For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Hansen wore a navy blue redingote frock and a corsage of roses and sweetpeas.

A reception was held in the garden after the wedding. the bride's table was centered with a tiered wedding cake. Mrs. Edward P. Blair of Seattle cut the cake and Mrs. Eldon Turnidge of Jefferson presided at the punch bowl. Serving were Miss Althea Fenwick and Miss Lucy Barham.

After the reception the couple left for a trip along the Oregon coast and for traveling the bride wore a rose silk crepe dress with beige top coat and navy and white accessories After July 1 the couple will be at home in Seattle at 46 West Etruria.

Mrs. Archer attended Seattle Pacific college and her husband is a graduate of the college.

Gerald H. Archer

Gerald H. Archer, age 84, died at Warm Beach Senior Community, Stanwood, WA on June 29, 2002.

He is survived by his wife Louise; six sons; sixteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A graduate of Seattle Pacific College and a retired Seattle School Teacher, Gerald was a long time member of Seattle First Free Methodist Church. Born December 23, 1917 to F.J. and Hazel Litherland Archer in Densmore, Kansas, he attended Los Angeles Pacific College before moving to Seattle.

A memorial service will be held on July 14, 3:00 PM, at Warm Beach Senior Community's Beechwood facility.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to either Salem Academy, Oregon or Warm Beach Senior Community.
