He married ELIZABETH ALLEN on March 12, 1863 in Girard, Branch, Michigan.⁴⁸⁹⁰ She was born May 5, 1830 in Monroe County, New York,⁶¹⁷⁵ and died May 11, 1912 in Comstock, Kalamazoo, Michigan.⁶¹⁷⁵ She is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo, Michigan.^{6175, 456}

GALESBURG PIONEER DIES VERY SUDDENLY

Galesburg, Mich., May 11.—Mrs. Elizabeth Ballou, 84, one of the pioneers of Kalamazoo county and for years a resident of this city, was found dead in bed at the home of her niece, Mrs. Calvin Schyler, this afternoon. Mrs. Ballou had been ill for years but was as well as usual and ate dinner with the family.

Directly after dinner she retired to her room. A short time later members of the family had occasion to enter and found the old lady had expired. The funeral arrangements have not been made.
