Injured When Train Hits Taxi.

(Special to the News.)

LaGRANGE, Ind., March 13 — Mrs. Parson D. Ballou and son Billy, aged five years, were painfully injured in Kalamazoo this week when they taxi cab in which they were riding was struck by a passenger train on a Michigan central crossing. Mrs. Ballou was badly bruised and Billy's face was cut by the broken glass. Several other passengers were injured. Mrs. Ballou and son had gone to Kalamazoo to visit the former's daughter, Mrs. William H. Vanderbilt.

LAGRANGE DENTIST DIES.

LAGRANGE, Ind., Dec. 18. — Dr. Pardon D. Ballou, 61 years old, died yesterday of paralysis in Christian hospital, Grand Rapids, Mich., where he had been a patient two weeks. He had been a dentist in Lagrange thirty-five years. He attended dental school in Indianapolis. Survivors are the widow, a son, daughter, sister and brother.
