Thursday evening, at the home of the bride's parents, south of Solomon, Miss Clara Strickler was united in marriage with Rev. Chas. G. Bear, of Haddam, Washington county, Kansas. The ceremony was witnessed by a large number of friends and relatives, and was performed by Rev. Underwood, presiding elder of the district on which the groom is stationed, assisted by Rev. Tarbell, of Abilien, and Rev. R. A. Hoffman, of Solomon. The happy pair were recipients of numerous costly presents in token of the memorable event.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. F. Strickler, one of the most prosperous of Saline county farmers, who resides four miles south of Solomon. She is a universal favorite and is held in high esteem not only in this, but also in Dickinson county, where she has been prominently connected with educaitonal interests.
The groom, Rev. Mr. Bear, is a member of the Kansas conference of the Methodist church, and is a young man of ability. H was formerly editor of the Chapman Courier. Mr. and Mrs. Bear left immediately for Haddam, where they will reside. The REPUBLICAN-JOURNAL joins with many friends in extending congratulations and best wishes.
