I, Harvey Bell of Knightstown, Henry County, Indiana, being of sound mind and good health, and being impressed with the uncertainty of life, do this the 27th day of August in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty three, make this my last will and testament.
I give and bequeath to my dear daughter, Emma Edwards the house and lots, where I have so long resided, situated on Adams street in said town of Knightstown, together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging. And also all the household property of whatever description, contained in said house, all of which she has in her own right to do as she may please with.
After settling my indebtedness i full, I give and bequeath the remainder of my moneys and property as follows: I give to Mary Primpton a bonus of five hundred dollars, on account of her not having received so much from me as my other children heretofore.
Then the balance of my estate of whatever description, I will and bequeath to all my children, to wit: Margaret Jane Fish, John F. Bell, William N. Bell, Sarah Thayer, Mary Primpton, and Emma Edwards to be equally divided amongst them, except one hundred dollars, I will to be give to each of my grandchildren who may be living at my decease. And I hereby will and request that Tillgman Fish, William N. Bell and W. P. Hill act as Executors of my will. And I earnestly request that my Estate may be settled according to the foregoing will, without any litigation, or ill feeling, all peaceably and in good feeling. And I further request my Executors to take suitable time, so that no loss may be sustained in settling up my request. August 27th 1883.
