GERSHAM, Or., March 10.—(Special)—Mrs. Stella C. Biddle, wife of W. R. Biddle, died yesterday at her home in Gresham. Mrs. Biddle has been a sufferer from cancer for some time, and her death was not unexpected. Mr. Biddle came to Gresham about a year and a half ago. Last year Mrs. Biddle taught the Cedar School and also assisted in her husband's store.
About six months ago it became certain that she was afflicted with cancer. Every effort was made to stay the disease, but without avail.
Some time ago she made arrangements for her funeral.
The services will be held at the chapel of the Portland Crematorium at Sellwood, and will be conducted by Rev. Melville T. Wire, of Gresham, and Rev. C. C. Rarick, of Portland.

Funeral services for William Riley Biddle, retired variety store operator, of 15908 SE Division street, will be held at 11 a. m. THursday in Portland Crematorium chapel, with Mt. Scott Funeral home in charge. Mr. Biddle died Sunday in Seaside, where he had gone three months ago for his health.
Born April 12, 1882, near Fort Madison, Iowa, Mr. Biddle was a salesman in Colorado before coming to Oregon 33 years ago. He opened a variety store in Gresham, then worked for Olds, Wortman & King and a Methodist book concern, prior to moving to Granta Pass. After 17 years operating a variety store in Grants Pass, he sold out and returned to Portland. He was a member of Laurelwood Methodist church, the Odd Fellows lodge and the Elks lodge in Grants Pass. Surviving are his wife, Olive H.; brother, Friend T. of Denver, Colo., and sister, Ruth Biddle of Longmont, Colo.
